I picked Ryan Adams’ Heartbreaker for 2000. Didn’t even know that his music was classed as Country, but it’s an enjoyable enough listen.
Now onto Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals for 2001. Had always assumed they were a bit more of a conventional guitar band, but there’s some serious weirdness sprinkled throughout the album. Still good though.

SFA are rarely conventional Fergus. Well worth trying some of their other stuff. First two albums especially are better

I'm still slowly working my way through the years.
2002: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco 2003: Chutes Too Narrow by the Shins I'd never even heard of Wilco or The Shins before, so they're both brand new to me.
Onto 2004 now:
2004: Funeral by Arcade Fire Arcade Fire is one of those bands that I always felt I should be familiar with, but I don't think I've ever knowingly heard any of their music.

I got into Arcade Fire about a year ago after never hearing anything by them. I now absolutely love them. The consensus seems to be that Funeral is the best album (but of their five albums, I'd have it at number 3)

Quite like a bit of Wilco, got into them via a collaboration they did with Lord William of Braggshire.
I utterly adore Funeral by Arcade Fire, it's one of my toppest favouritest albums ever, ever. But for me it's all diminishing returns after that, none of the subsequent albums can come close.
I've been a bit slack in my own reviews, still stuck somewhere in the 90s. As in life.

Agree with Fitz regarding the Arcade Fire. Funeral is excellent, subsequent work more patchy.
I find the Shins pleasant to listen to and the video for "Pink Bullets" is lovely.

The Shins...? Aren't they the one with that one big song? (What's that called?)
PS - It's Reflektor for me - anyone who can theme an album on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is alright by me...
