Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Some great albums there, especially 97-99. Excellent.

I might have to listen to that Wu Tang Clan one now just to see how potty mouthed it can be.

Belle and Sebastian plus the Lips :). Two of my faves and seen them both live. Lips amazing live and way more than just a band playing starstarstar

One of the great bands barely if seen at all in this thread - Primal Scream. Why anyone would listen to say Depeche Mode ahead of them amazes me. Same with the JAMC - maybe I just like Scots. DM always seem to be trying way too hard to me

Flaming Lips are a phenomenal live act. Like a 2 hour encore last time I saw them đź‘Ť

PS over DM for me too but not really comparable?

Well, I have Primal Scream albums in my collection and my personal version of this exercise is to listen to an album by an artist none of whose albums I've owned before.

One of my favourite moments from The Jonathan Ross show was when the Flaming Lips performed. They had loads of people dancing around in animal costumes and at the end it turned out the one in the dolphin costume was actually Jonathan :-)

DT - I have all the Primal Scream albums so they didn't "qualify" for my list. I Agree they are a great band.

After My Bloody Valentine, I moved on to:

1992: Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted
1993: Pearl Jam - Vs
1994: Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies

Again, I've never owned anything by these bands and hadn't even heard of Pavement. I enjoyed Pavement and Alice in Chains, but probably expected too much from Pearl Jam which just washed over me without making a real impression. Maybe I need to give it more time.

Pearl Jam is making more of an impact now that I given it a few more plays. It’ll never have the same kind of impact as the Manics or Nirvana though, as it wasn’t part of the soundtrack to my twenties in the same way that they were.

Now listening to Bjork’s Post for 1995. It’s no where near as bonkers as I thought it was going to be!
