Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Are we back on the usual course yet? I was supporting a couple of weeks ago and the new one looked mean!!

I wasn't there last week, but I gather it was a 'hybrid' of the 2 - running diagonally across the football pitches to start rather than around the edge of the field as that is still pretty boggy - thus not needing the tarmac section / switchback in the first mile. But I don't know what the plan is for this weekend.

I would hope that the recent dryer weather and warmth will have helped to dry things out a bit so it should be more aligned to the 'usual' course than the new one. I personally liked the new one (unfortunately only got chance to run it once) as the first mile on flat tarmac definitely felt flatter, although I know it wasn't ideal with the big stream of people going up and down the alleyway with the switchback! Why did you think it was 'mean'?

I got a big course PB on the new course. Unfortunately this now means I need to beat it on the 'normal' course.

I was on course for a PB the one time I did the new one, but it was after / during all the rain, so there was an ankle deep puddle across the whole of the bottom corner of the golf course and after running through that I got numb feet and had a really slow final mile!! (my feet need to man up, clearly!). My course PB will still take some beating, though I will keep trying and maybe once the conditions are better I'll get there!!

mine should be beatable. It's still a minute slower than on a flat course.

HTFU feet :)

Plan for this week is the same as last week: across the pitches rather than round.

We will, of course carry out an inspection first. It has been pretty dry...

Hello RunnyRunRun. Come and introduce yourself if you know who we are.

Thank you Clare, and very well done on first lady! I'm sure I've seen you there a few times but the penny didn't really drop as to who you were until we were talking to Purps. It was a fabulous morning for it :) Liked being back on the normal course again...
