I suppose that he might have had a deviation in his values, which at the time might have been attributed to training (for instance a period at altitude?), but then a similar event produced different values or the longitudinal analysis demonstrates that his excuse from that time just doesn't fit with his normal results. In a way its encouraging that they are picking these things up, but it would be wrong if he misses a big race for no reason, and his absence changes the result. Are we happy with this version of zero tolerance?

There's a noticeable increase in cyclists recently, both on the route and nearby. I saw a large group leaving Harewood this morning heading in the direction of stage 1, though none of them looked very prepared for a long day. Three have just sat next to me in Betty's. I've seen a few leaving Harrogate with numerous bottles attached to bikes that might have ridden the route.
