Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Did anyone sign up for the 2 remaining recce's?
I tried for the one in may but sold out so will try at some point in the next few months to run the sections of the course I've not been on. Just dependant on what restrictions are in place at the time.
I've even started training for it this year 😉

I have signed up for the May recce. Got my money refunded for the non-event of the recce from Coniston to Buttermere.

NO recces for me :( - I was signed up to the night one that's moved to this weekend and is therefore not doable.

I don't think I'm going to get any of the course recce'd apart from maybe the very last bit.
I'm relying on John Kynaston's youtube videos and aerial maps.

JKs YouTube videos are fabulous. However the combination of the map and roadbook are spot on.

I know the May recce section really well so it's less about navigation and more about getting some hills into my legs (and testing some new kit).

I have two maps that were donated to me, I don't believe the 50 route has changed since the 10th anniversary has it?

I'm more concerned that all the distances are metric. Can't decide whether to annotate the roadbook or change watch to km - I know I won't be in a fit state to do the maths after the first 20 miles or so

although to be fair ....... having then just printed out the roadbook to do that prompted by this conversation, there are very few directions over 1km ........ weirdly i can work in the small metres descriptions but have converted anything over 1km just so i have all the info for when my brain goes to fudge ;-)
