Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

yes, I will have to get a refund for that - bit pissed off as I was really looking forward to it. I can't drive 5 hours, do the recce and drive 5 hours home :(

Thatโ€™s because youโ€™re sensible Rosehip! I just wondered about where they sat in the โ€˜responsibility of encouragementโ€™ (is that a proper phrase?) of getting people to travel while restrictions are still in place. I suppose it will depend on how many take up the opportunity as to how it is perceived by the locals etc as to how responsible it is. Doesnโ€™t quite sit right with me.

Still, not my monkey, not my problem.

I assume they're looking at daylight hours and leaving it much longer would make it harder to have it as a proper "night" recce.
Think there'll be lots of sleeping in cars/wild camping and/or very tired drivers on the roads, I hope that there's no comeback.

I've a marathon scheduled for 23rd May - the recce from Dalemain to Ambleside. Seriously considering binning the marathon and going to the recce.

Ironically it is my only real race still 'on' before the Lakeland 100.

I'm in Coniston for 6th June - can't justify 23rd May as well :(
Hope to be able to do a bit of walking that weekend, but depends if I have mum or husband or no-one with me.

Right... Iโ€™ve officially declared myself to be in (got in via the ballot during the depths of lockdown)

Will have to work out logistics as will be travelling by train and trying to minimise time away from home...

I pointed you here because if I make it around the 50 I won't be in a fit state to drive on the Sunday and I don't know what my Friday plans are likely to be yet - but thought someone might be able to help.
