Sorry to hear about the car issues! At least no one was hurt and you still got out for a look at the course. I ran the route on Saturday picking up another runner at Boot to join me for the last section. Well, that was the plan! as it turned out the person I was meeting had a few moments in the car, not disimilar to those described, on the way over and was delayed so I waited for them to turn up and called it a day there. Ran the full route on Sunday though, only needing the roadbook to get between Boot and Wasdale so fortunately got in about 15:20 to make the looong drive back South!
That fork is important to hit, I missed it in the race last year as that is the only section I hadn't recce'd but fortunately noticed before too much damage was done and only a small amount of time was lost getting back onto the correct track.
We should be a bit better off with weather at the next recce and none of the other pick up points are quite as remote as buttermere.
Oh... and only ended up on my arse once due to some ice!

Ive paid up for the 2 recces in april and may but am I right in thinking that May - Buttermere to Dalmain - is part of the 100 course and (apart from obviously being an amazing day out), isn't actually going to help the L50-ers for route knowledge? someone help.......
I'm down for the 2 day 50 recce in June.

Who else is going to the recce this weekend?
I won't be at the talk on Saturday night, but will be on the bus from Ambleside on Sunday morning.
