Awesome. I am hoping to run the route Sat and Sun to get it firmly in my head which way to go. Anyone else at the talk on Sat night? Sounds like a good one to me.

My place will be available on the waiting list soon. I just don't have time to put in the training so I'm pulling out.

sorry to hear that heebiejeebie. What sort of training IS everyone else doing? Following a programme or increasing miles/ hill walking duration??? Which programme?

No specific schedule. Building up the miles, plenty of trail and hill running carrying the required kit and also getting up to the lakes to train and recce when possible. Still doing 2 specific speed sessions a week to keep me on track for VLM.

my training seems to be the lowest mileage and least long runs I've done for several years; only speed work is parkrun, and I'm in Cambridge so no sign of any inclines never mind hills; work and a long-standing niggle are preventing any proper distance training. Had a wobble and wondered about pulling out a week ago, but need to HTFU and do it anyway.

The nav on this event isn't particularly challenging, so for those who are struggling to recce I wouldn't worry about it too much.

still early days, i've only 25 running miles on the january clock as i've had a sore knee tendon since before christmas. Mind i've done a boat load of cycling and swimming . I'm going ot do the recce tomorrow and see how the knee goes. At the end of the day i'll be taking it really steady and i can walk it if need be.

buggered if i can find my 100 roadbook mind.

Well that was interesting. An abandonded car on newlands pass straddling the whole road (tis narrow) . On of the recce lads tried to turn around and slid into it. Missed the bus . had a look at newlands , sail and scotsgarth instead so not all lost and canny run with great company.

Cheers Flip and Dogtanian it made for an unexpected yet enjoyable day out, and at least it meant I was home a bit earlier. I hope chappie gets his car back at some point, and we know where the left fork is now, lets hope they have the floodlights on at the sheepfold.
