I use the liquid chalk someone linked to above. I get very sweaty hands which Limits my grip!

Following 5 days of doing releases for my shoulders, pecs, upper back area I noticed quite a change in my overhead lifting today. Battle ropes were easier too, upper body felt more relaxed and a bit more powerful.

Shoulders super set hurt! Goodness me my shoulders are mega feeble!

Hope all lifting going well with everyone. Liquid chalk, rather than gloves, is going far better for my grip, although I'm finding it doesn't last very long when deadlifting. PT session on Thursday saw me lifting 50kg on box squats (previous norm was 40kg) - tough, but managed. He's also had me doing double-paused deadlifts at 50kg (just really struggling to stay tight for that long!). A few weeks ago, he pushed me a bit on the deadlifts - previous best was 70kg, but managed up to 85kg. He was keen for me to try 90kg, but also wanted me to make a slight change to my positioning, so I did another at 85kg instead. Each session has ended with much jumping around!

Wow! Progress indeed. I haven't done any deadlifts for weeks, can't remember why now!

idle_wilder I did some deadlifts today. No one max reps today but I felt tremendously good the entire time and managed my reps with relative ease. Totally chuffed that my grip has improved and I didn't need to go to over/under grip for my 40kg 3 X 8 reps which I used to need.
PT used a cue for me today that changed everything... I would always feel I had to pull the weight off the floor but today he told me to "push away from the ground" OMG! The difference! I powered off the floor with wpevery rep! Today was the best lifting day so far 😃

Great to see all the hard work is paying off Brig! I always need to remind myself to 'push away from the ground' - when I lower to the bar, PT always reminds me to keep glutes & hamstrings engaged, and do an extra little dip/hinge at the hips before driving the hips up/forward. Always find when I'm on my own that I forget & end up putting more of my back in that I should on heavier lifts though!

'Women Who Lift Weights' website & FB page has some good articles and videos too.
