Brig - I do hope it goes well with Chris. Please let us know how you get on.
Interested in liquid chalk - thanks for the link, Ness - I may well give that a go.
Coach at a comp tomorrow so I am going to be let loose on my own in the gym - fancy a bit of strongman fun and games!

I use climbing chalk balls, they aren't that messy.

Thanks Ness, will give it a go - need to improve my grip strength for heavier weights anyway, but chalk definitely helped with grip in general last night.

This works for us and isn't as messy as chalk in our conservatory 'home gym'.

PT uses a climbing chalk ball & I did make a bit of a mess (probably just me!). Had emailed him earlier in week to say I'd lost quite a bit of love for the running, so we're going to concentrate more on the lifting in our sessions. Worked on squats and deadlift technique - I've been lowering too fast, and my hips were coming up first - definitely felt better, but definitely have doms today!

eL Bee! uses liquid chalk for climbing. I tried, but I'm allergic to something in it, presumably the same something that's in hand sanitising gel since I'm allergic to that too.

Have bought a little bottle of liquid chalk today to try - will give it a go tomorrow with some deadlifts. Still a bit of doms, so will just do a few sets, then concentrate on upper body, I think.

I can feel it today!

Deadlifts yesterday - at comp weight. 15 for first lot - although that took longer than 60 secs but I went to failure.

13 lifts in 60 seconds for second round, and finished with a steady 8. That works out to just over 3 tonnes in about 3.5 minutes of lifting.

I like to work it out that way :)

Push press after that.
