I can only begin to imagine! My scary thing today was going in the testosterone weight room all by myself to do deadlifts.... Turns out it's not that scary. Lots of teenage boys doing endless biceps curls and loving themselves in the mirrors like a row of bloody budgies! I felt like telling them to stop skipping leg day... Haha! Chicken legs

I was feeling a bit meh about my Lat pull downs until I put the weights and reps in to the calculator... Seems I am stronger than 67% of female lifters of my age group πŸ˜ƒ

Good luck Duracell! Lol Brig, I do giggle at some of the show-posing that goes on in the weights area in front of the mirrors!

Gym tomorrow for a bit of strength programme. PT put my hip thrusters up to 60kg on Thursday night, and he wants to focus on speed deadlifts in future sessions - just need to keep focussing on pushing through legs, and not lifting with arms/back.

it takes a deal of concentration to get everything right. I keep thinking push through heel and big toe to engage the whole foot and lower leg

Hello Brig :) Sorry for keeping you waiting....

I had a fab day! Came 6th so mid table - would have loved a top 5 finish but not to be.

Secured PBs on all events so can't really complain, albeit my overhead really needs to improve. I could have done better on my stones as well - esp if I hadn't lent my tacky to other competitors ;)
I was 2nd on the keg run, and joint 3rd on deadlifts so that was hugely encouraging.

The first year my coach ran this competition, the max reps on the 70kg squats was 12- this year it was 25. That just goes to show the improvements that are being seen as women's strength training really does start to become more mainstream. In fact, the class with the most competitors was novice women.

Looking for my next comp now!

Hoorah! That is awesome!!!! Great that you are taking away so many positives and additionally great that lifting for women is becoming so popular πŸ˜ƒ Really proud of you!

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.
