Ooouuueeefff!

Winter training has started and I was back in the actual gym today for the first time since.... JUNE 10th.

Where did the summer and my summer season go?

ANYWAY
It was hard work. I have definitely lost strength since the spring - most noticeable on the stuff I was 'good' at - squats for instance.

I found three sets of 10 reps - full deep squats - much harder than I did back then. I think my squat PB is 40, might be 45 (or is that deadlift?)

Upper body not as bad a I expected (must be all that throwing I've been doing!)
Full report when I blog it this affie.

Am refuelling now with Midnight Brownies (walnuts and black beans for protein, fats and carbs) Plus black coffee. More protein for dinner in half an hour.

Duracell
Hurrah - you're back, Sharkie :)

Bench, bench and more bench for me today, followed by dumbbell drills.
Pulled my back at the weekend and the tightness has moved down to my left hamstring - no leg bashing just yet.
Coach is moving to new premises at the weekend - still a "proper" lifting gym, just not quite as dirty!

It's mainly you who have kept the thread going over summer Duracell - plus one or two others of course.

Hope everyone is going to storm back in with renewed vigour and commitment.

RAAAAAAH!

Put my back out a couple of weeks ago so been doing mainly shoulder an arm stuff. I just started doing some RDLs with bar only last week, and today progressed to bar +10kg (so 30kg total I think) I feel pathetic but know I need to build up slowly to get back where I was without doing myself further or more permanent damage.

PT has given me homework ( :-0 ) to help build up my core and strengthen my back, plus some stretches. In tribute to how I approached HW in my school days, I shall leave it to the last minute and do it on the bus on my way to the gym next week!!!

Great session today. I managed some "proper" deadlifts! Low weight (30kg) but it's a (re)start. Back is recovering slowly but surely :-)

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.
