I now have a stash!! Thanks very much to Nicky I have a ball each of about 8 different colours of bamboo cotton and three big fluffy balls that might make a nice scarf for me (cos I like the colours!). There's still some interesting looking things left...

And I raced too, third consec year at this race and once again my time was 67 minutes! Though less seconds this year, so I'm putting it down as a course best.

Hi all, I've been inspired by this thread and started cross-stitching for the first time in about 20 years! I'm making Christmas cards. I've fininshed The Socks Of Doom, and the scarf is going well - about 3/4 done.

And, my mum came to visit over the weekend and brought me 800g of cream DK cotton and 2 balls of crochet laceweight stuff! Happy days!

The Socks Of Doom are fabulous - I can see that they would have taken a lot of work and concentration :)

Well done on your long run, RD :)

I went out for a little walk, took the wee-raptors to Sainsbury's to buy teenager-food (Innocent veg pots, tinned soup and spuds, mostly) and hair dye, and otherwise sat knitting in front of the television.

i love those innocent veg pots - and they're nearly always on offer. i let my teen dye (semi permanent) my hair the other day. she made a better job of it than i ever have :)

I've crocheted a Christmas bauble with some multicoloured wool I got from Nicky today. Once I've decorated it I'll post a picture.

I let Tink henna my hair once. All that happened was that my dainty little silver highlights turned nicotine-yellow :(

From what I recall about hair dye, it takes forever and is very messy and smelly, but the girls had done one another in no time at all. Fellmouse has gone from yellow with big brown roots to a natural-looking brown all over, and Tink tells me that she's a different shade of magenta though I'm not convinced.

My mum is all fretty about Fellmouse's DIY eyebrow-piercing. She has completely forgotten that at the same age my oldest daughter had a proper faceful of metalwork, including a tongue stud, AND shaved off her eyebrows and drew beards on her chin, and she's now the most middle-aged 20-year-old you could imagine.

I've just [whisper] bought a couple of skeins of red and green yarn with Christmas decorations in mind. I needed another skein of the stuff I'm currently using, so I thought it would be efficient use of postage ;)

Just hauled a bag of wool to work to send off to Mikura at lunchtime - you're quite close to me actually, but not that close I guess :-)

runnerduck if you fmail me your address I'm sure I can send some odds and sods along to you - I know how expensive it is and even the odd ball of wool free is a help :-)

Meglet - wow! Can't believe you've already put it to good use - that's fab. All I did was collapse when I got home :-p
And yes if you fancy some Vrap, I'm sure we can arrange for it to go via Meglet....when's the next Lakeland? Are you coming to the Woodland Challenge Meg?

Hubby's not going to like me and this thread... I like Meglet's amigurami - I had to google it as well...I could have a field day! Now, I need to find that sock I started last year...and remember how to turn the heel as it's been about 20 years since I last made any! I got to the point where I needed to do the heel, found I couldn't remember how to do it and promptly stopped!!!:(
