This is a super easy pattern - lacycrochet.blogspot.com - when I make it I add another gap in the centre of each diamond, here's a pic on Ravelry ravelry.com .

I also made one like this ages ago. I was using up yarn making a load of squares in the "Nature's Walk" pattern ravelry.com and had some left over so used them for a baby-size blanket. It wasn't for anyone in particular, but is now with a neighbour. This isn't mine - I think I did three squares by four - but you get the idea.
