I'm not in a huge hurry so will see if more are available in a couple of months. I do really appreciate everyone's input! Making loads of face masks recently made me realise how much I love sewing; the only reason I don't do more of it is that I don't have a proper space for it.

Janome have advised most new stock not in until Aug/Sept. My local shop near Brighton has some still in stock: JANOME

Model J3-24 £259
Model 423s £319
Model HD2200 £399
Model 230DC £379
Overlock Model 9300DX £289
Overlock Model 6234XL £479

I got a Janome 2200XT which is at the basic end, it has an overcast foot (not tried anything other than straight yet).

Hellsbells/ Purps and any one with a modern machine... do you use the foot pedal still? Or shall I just get used to sewing using the stop/start buttons etc. I’m slightly preferring the pedal but is there an advantage to getting used to working without it?

Purps has inspired me to make Jersey stuff but I'm scared to start.

Lizzie, start with some pants maybe and go from there. My first jersey make was trousers a couple of years ago. Just practise on some fabric, choose the stitch that works best with the fabric you are using and go from there.

re, I don't have a start stop button, but I think unless it was something quite straight I would probably want to control it with the foot pedal, or maybe that's because that's how I've always done it.

Mine is a Janome 7025 exclusive to John Lewis.

I WILL NOT keep looking at sewing machines.

I won't, I tell you. I won't look at embroidery machines, nor will I look at coverlock machines. NO WAY
