Yes, I had to iron when I was trying to make the face masks! It's so much easier to get a better finish when it's really flat...

I only use my iron for sewing at the moment!

Yesterday I finished the first lot of face masks for local friends. 33 done.

Just the small matter of another 45 now. Most of them are cut and partially stitched but the final bits seems to take ages.

Now if I had done double width thus would have been a perfect blanket instead it's a wrap!

Loads of yarn left as I had multiple balls if all but the white and bright yellow. I may make another

:) Certainly deserves to be out and visible.

I'm on to the sewing part of my mock-plaid blanket. Pleased with it so far.

I only iron if it's a woven fabric, knits I don't bother with!

Pretty, Pix.

I finished sewing my first mask (Purps' link). Probably took about 8 hours 😱! I used an old school shirt - lovely smooth dense fabric - and an old T-shirt for interlining & yarn tie.
Question: what's the best way to poke the seams out to press, once it's turned right way out - should I press the seam allowance before stitching to give a crease?
