Please can you lovely group of Fetchies help me? I am known at work as a miserable Christmas-hating Grinch and I never give cards or presents. I have made and given out a few pairs of socks and a couple of shawls at random times over the years. This year I have been lucky enough to have been really supported by a colleague and I would like to give her something for Christmas. I would like to stick with my tradition (such as it is) and give something knitted or crocheted. She is in her mid 30s and fairly fashionable and with it!! What have you gifted that has worked really well? Was there anything that really didn't work?

Possibly people have just been being nice, but I think all the knitted and crocheted things I've gifted have been pretty well received - mostly shawls, a few blankets, one jumper so far.

The thing that jumped to mind reading your post was a faux turban style hat - something like this, maybe
