I've just started watching this thread. I've not really knitted much since my kids grew up and stopped needing small sized jumpers (I don't have the patience for big projects) but, I've recently taken over knitting the snood my son started for his partner and I got sick of fixing/unpicking.. I'm actually quite enjoying having a task to perform whilst staring at the telly.

I’ve discovered my sewing machine has an appliqué function. If anyone is going to appreciate how exciting I’ve found this, it’ll you, the folk on this thread.

Applique sounds good. Is it a sort of buttonhole/blanket stitch? (I used to do a little bit using close zig-zag)

It's a blanket stitch H. I think for smaller pieces, I'll use a close zig-zag.

Spent a tiring but lovely 3 hrs in a horse yard this morning

Possible job even with very low pay
So naturally I’m now thinking I need to knit more thick socks and some fingerless gloves - the ones with short fingers - any pattern suggestions?
