I’ve been making this all afternoon

It’s a sewing kit I’ve made as a Christmas present for my best friend. Hoping to make another four or so: needle book, folding scissors, thread, needle threader, ripper and thimble. I’m waiting on that measuring tape.

And this is the needle book, with a selection of needles, pins and safety pins.

The next ones will have plumper pin cushion lids, less like tam o’shanters.

My advent calendar is looking good so far!
But what to do with 20g mini skeins?

What a lovely idea, Wobbling - and very nicely executed, too.

I love that, Wobbling!

I have a needle book made of felt which looks like a cottage, with linen "pages" inside. I *think* my cousin (several years older than me) made it for our grandma when I was pretty young.

20g mini skeins will make a few phone cases. Or bunting triangles.

Wobbling- that is a lovely idea

Checking in after too long an absence. I'm currently knitting a granny blanket on large needles. I'm using up my stash and knitting 2 or 3 yarns together in random width stripes. My plan is to do 3 wide lengths (51 stitches by 1.5 metres) of random stripes. These will be joined by narrow cream stripes with a cream border. The other side of the blanket will be a patchwork of old clothes that the girls have loved but have outgrown. I know it sounds random! Hopefully it will look OK. It's to go on the sofa bed in the spare room or for those times when they need a sofa blanket to watch a TV film.
