Lovely EP! Hope the two weeks' knitting therapy helps.

FO to declare https://www.ravelry.com/projects/sally-kate/part-1-pick-n-mix-crochet-along-blanket: it was a CAL from a magazine. I suspect it would have been better in the wool it was designed for but by the time I decided to do it the yarn pack they were offering was an acrylic. Some of the squares were great, some more challenging in terms of keeping my interest, and some I thought were badly written so I had to make some changes.

I started this last year some time (they released one square pattern each month for a year) and finally got round to doing the border yesterday. I don't know if it's the yarn or because I've spent so long on it but I've just not really bonded with it so I'm going to give it to a friend.

The link isn’t working SK.

I know what you mean about not ‘bonding’ with a piece. The only long term project I’ve worked on that I still love in an Attic24 blanket that I pick up whenever I’ve nothing else to hook. I think not working on it all the time keeps my interest in it.

pesky punctuation got in the way of the link... ravelry.com

I love my sunflower blanket even though I also spent ages on it but it was my design so I was a bit more engaged with it. The basic pattern was on a blog which has now been deleted - luckily I have a printout so I can still make another for a friend who fell in love with it.

I can see there’s a lot of work in it SK, but it doesn’t seem very coherent, just random squares joined together, so I can understand you not bonding with it!
The Scheepjes blankets look great, squares are different but similar and the colour designs are nice.

I've often ended up with stuff that I really enjoyed knitting, but which I don't like as a finished project. I'm definitely a process rather than a product knitter.

Me too JK. There are often things I'd like to knit because they look interesting to make, but I am careful not to make something I'm unlikely to use. Otherwise I'd have loads of shawls that I never wear!

wow SK, that looks really complex - not a relax and hook while you watch TV pattern that's for sure. Shame you didn't bond with it but great that it has found a home!! I love the bold colours and am intrigued by some of the squares - the ruffly flower in the 3rd row down, the ridged circles and grid effect ones in the 2nd row in particular. Having said that - your sunflower blanket remains one of my favourites!

Very nice SK! JK, I feel that way sometimes too...the journey is often more fun than the end result...then I've been known to muppet things.

What I do want to do is an Icelandic sweater again...I made a couple of them 30 years ago, one whose sleeves were a little too short for me, so gave it away to a friend of mine. Now to decide on what colours to make it.

Yep, i really enjoy the process of crafting as well - though i do find it quite disheartening when i don’t like the finished article, and find it makes lose my crafting mojo quite frequently.. i think i just need to think about what i make a bit more, and consider what i have/haven’t liked as far as FO is concerned a bit more realistically, but that would be far too sensible ;)

A few years ago, I made a cowl for myself but didn't like the end result, so it was given as a FSS present! From what I gathered, the recipient liked it.:)
