Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

A couple of friends at work have just had baby's. I usually crochet a blanket in this situation but thought I should try new things. Any ides what would be appreciated for a newborn (one is their first and the other is their second)? It is late spring here, so I guess no warm hats and wintry things!

Amigurami toy
A small square with an animal head or motif they can grab easily
Bunting
Cardi/jacket
There's probably loads of options but I guess it depends on the parents. I do think a pram/car seat blanket is useful

I love the idea of a little comforter (Meglet's second suggestion) - or how about some booties? Very old school but quick to make and there are some great designs out there.

Amigurami as Meglet said

Also although it's not winter you could do bigger hats ready for winter, I had hats for E and H that has a folded rim the first winter then fit fully next winter, they were so awesome, I'll see if I can find a picture

Jenelopy, I think it's just trebles in a spiral as opposed to the round so just kept going until it's big enough, in a chunky yarn.

Wish I didn't know about that Nottingham thing, now. That could be Sunday's trip.

Big thank you to Winelegs - that Little Flower Hat was a perfect match to the little coat I've just done for new great-niece! ravelry.com
