:-) Gnome went along (for support of a friend I think not sure if it will continue!) and made a felt/fluffy pumpkin. He was very proud/amused at his efforts!
Now how to sort the stash without husband seeing how much I have!!

QQ...I am going to attempt my first pattern from a chart. How do you read knitting charts?

Bottom to top (because the rows are numbered that way)
Right to left? (Because the numbers are up the right hand side of the chart)

Are you knitting flat or in the round?
Flat the chart reads right to left on RS rows and left to right on WS
In the round each row is right to left
Lace charts where the WS rows are simply purled often only show the RS rows

Good mornuing. When I picked up my 'last started' socks on Monday night I had to loook at Ravelry to see where I was on the pattern. To disciver that it was April when I last clicked the needles on them. Luckily I haven't forgotten how to knit.

That's very sweet EP

Must feel good to pick up your needles again H? I crocheting a very simple blanket at the moment, the meditative nature of it has helped keep me calm this week.
