I have been seduced by a knitting magazine today. In Tesco I picked up The Knitter to read while the NotSoSmallFry was at brass band practice. By the time we got home I had to log on and buy the necessaries for this reader.immediate.co.uk Wish me luck, it was a *lot* of money and it involves steeking which I have never done before.

Bottom up, edge, then join in the round, join the sleeves into the yoke and work upwards.

I have something to finish first so I will be making sure I have all the right needles etc before I dive in.

That's beautiful, it's a bit like Ann Kingstone's Hedgerow which I have the pattern for but haven't been brave enough to try

Lovely cardies, brave knitters - I quite like doing Fair Isle type colour work, but I can never get the tension right, so it tends to come out corrugated!

Ann Kingstone seems to be fond of steeking. I wanted to make this for my stepgranddaughter for Christmas but didn't dare!

Icemaiden, that is a gorgeous cardigan. I love fair-isle, but have never tried steeking.

E wants to be a witch for her reception class fancy dress party. I've bought material and will attempt to make a costume, thinking dress, Cape and hat.

A mock up in red. I need to make the arks a little bigger at the top, but it'll be good. She wants it black with a spider's web and an orange and purple spider.
