Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Great idea. I'm rubbish at appreciating the small things. More into fearing and beating myself up about big things! -) G

Daily gratitude and appreciation of the little things is a great idea.

I’m going to start …. Just to check I’m in the right lines
I’ve just thrown away some out of date covid tests
This is definitely a good thing as it means we’ve been healthy enough not to need them

It's a good thing, certainly, and I suppose I can see how it would give you joy if you were be all conscious and grateful for your good health as you did the throwing?
If I was starting today (which I'm not, technically) I'd probably pick the several seconds where I was accompanied in my bike to work by some sort of big floaty bird (that's a bird of prey, to those who don't speak my particular dialect of gibberish), which seemed to be intrigued by the squeak of my cranks and swooped gracefully between two or three lampposts to keep an eye on me.
I bloody love big floaty birds. Convenient, really, that I live in place called the Falcon's ward and we've got tons of the buggers. I ought to look up what the bigger ones around here are my really. Most likely a buzzard I guess.

Joy looks different for everyone, Pix, so don't worry too much about it!

As always I will say now - great idea - I'm in. However - as with every thread I 'join' - my intention is usually more enthusiastic than my actual 'doing'.
I will start adding 'note thing of joy' to my daily to-do list though, along with 'tidy study' and 'do paperwork' which appear on it pretty much every day!

A couple of young Austrian tourists just happened to turn up at our town hall just as we had 2 returned tickets for the Hogmanay Ceilidh - they were chuffed to bits. Towards the end of the night I watched from the balcony as they were getting the Orcadian strip the willow spectacularly wrong and loving it. You've never seen such grins. It's what dancing is all about. Happy New Year.
