Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'd assumed that was why you were knocking it out of the park Mousey.

It's another interesting one. When I trained for my two running marathons I had some of the best form ever at shorter distances, purely because I ran so much. I'm curious about how good your 2km time will be just from lots of rowing without really pushing paces.

I'm not yet getting the abs coming through but I'm looking forward to that day! Bound to happen sooner or later right? No, probably not.

Mine have been well insulated for years, Mutt, but I'd like to see my toes one more time before I die! :-)

Me too, Nellers. I P.B'd at 5k, 10k and half mara by quite some margin when mara training a few years back was also about 7kg lighter then :-o No abs though, just skinny arms and torso with leg muscles like scaffolding poles.

Shall give him a look, ta.

5k PB today, 20:30 dead, 7 seconds off previous best from a couple of weeks back. Happy with that. Didn't half hurt though!

That's way better than I've ever managed for 5k Mousey. Well dne indeed!

My back "pinged" yesterday getting out of the car. I think it has reacted badly to spending so much time driving over the last week and a bit, along with a significant amount of time rowing. Binned todays easy 10k, and I'm binning the planned sessions tomorrow and Wednesday too. Doing the physio stuff I need to to get myself moving again asap.

I think the bottom line is that my body is getting too old to hit this stuff like my head thinks I still can!

Erm ... I sat through him swigging his milk or whatever but the moment he opened his mouth and started shouting at me I thought 'what a pillock' and hit stop. I guess it's a matter of taste :-)

I guess so. He does have a few verbal tick (Oh yeah!) that I'm sure will become annoying given time but I'm enjoying seeing how a really good (GB Squad Level) rower trains and recovers.

Rotten luck with the back, Nellers. Take it easy and all the best for a quick recovery.

I thought I might get back into using the rower at the gym again this year. I decided to go in a bit earlier before my yoga class so I could also avoid the worst of the traffic. When I got in the gym:
1) the desk person didn't have a clue where the rowers were.
2) 2 were in use and the other one had been "reserved".
3) I found another one near the gorilla area but someone jumped on it as I got a bit nearer.
4) The atmosphere in there wasn't very nice.
Apart from all that I'll have another go this week and see if anything's different so much later in the year.

So, your little league over there >>> that's the time it takes to row 2k? If I get a machine I'll try and do 2k and see where my start point is. :)

Really surprised that the rowers at your gym are in such demand Aplenrose. I'm often the only one using them at my place.

Yep, the table is 2km times. Set a mark, draw a line in the sand etc.

There's also the little link the Fetch built for us that does a distance table too. That's quite fun.
