Is there any way to get a Garmin 245 to estimate distance? ConnectIQ App? Gym has PM3s so can't connect with phone.

ErgIQ does everything BUT distance (HR, stroke rate, watts, splits) but I don’t know if it will sync with a PM3. Got to be worth a try. Otherwise it’s back to good old manual tracking I think.

Googled that and it only supports PM5.

245 does stroke rate and HR. Would have thought distance could be done via the accelerometer as well but maybe that's in the more expensive watches.

Great to see lots of data SPR (some of us like all those numbers). Your only hope with the gym is to persuade someone to get a couple of PM5s to replace the antique PM3s. Good luck with that.

I've always been a heavyweight where running is concerned, and that's always limited my top end speed. However, that seems to not be such an issue for rowing, and my MSV times seem to stack up OK.

Speaking of which, I felt good for thus evening's row so decided to put in a SB for my 1k time (the concept 2 logbook season starts on 1st May - log.concept2.com )

It felt good, but obviously bloomin' hard for the last 400m, but it turned into a PB, taking a full second off my best time from a couple of months ago. Bang on 1:45 pace for exactly 3:30.0.

Now I just need to hold for 2k... 🤣

The second half is the easy bit, Andy. It's all downhill after the 1km mark. ;-)

Nellars wasn't telling the truth there. My planned 3 x 10 minute intervals tonight were sidelined since there wasn't enough time to squeeze them in before dinner. So, I just went for a 2k TT instead. Really huge positive split, but a SB (guaranteed since it's the first of the month) and only 1.8s off my PB, which I'll take after a big effort yesterday.

The second half was definitely uphill.

I think you rowed that route backwards if the second half was uphill, mate.😉

Well done on giving that level of yam though. Good stuff!

Nice work on the PB _andy. No chance of getting replacement rows IMO, it's a bodybuilding/ MMA gym. I might mention the dodgy rower next time if I remember.

Used the better feeling rower today and did 6141m in 30 min. Stroke rate 21 and had moments where it felt really smooth. Still got to learn how to maintain form when I try and pick up the pace; feels like there's some wasted effort there. AHR 128 max 159, most of the above average time was in the last 10 mins which had an AHR of 143. Getting closer to a decent aerobic workout and certainly a decent effort for those last 10 mins.
