Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yeah Muttley, I kind of agree. With the HRV thing to monitor my recovery I've taken the approach that the plan is what it is and rest days/ easy days are decided by the HRV feedback unless I feel really knackered when it doesn't tell me to rest. I've not got any scheduled rest/beer/sit down days but they happen to some degree pretty regularly.

Brewdog Hazy Jane. 3 cans and an evening of youtube music quizzes with my son did more for my soul than an hour of rowing I think.

Sensible. Sometimes you just need to kick back and relax.

Anyhoo, after a weekend off (for much the same reasons) back in the saddle this morning with 10,000 metres at UT2.

Another 10,000 done this morning, as warmup then 4 x 2000. It should be a run day but there's a proper hoolie blowing outside so maybe not.

I have had a bad week and rather fallen off the rowing wagon. I managed a half hour UT2 on Thursday, which was nice. Nothing much apart from that. Going to get in the shed this afternoon and try another UT2, then see where I go from there. Getting my head straight has taken priority.

Muttley: That was a big day. 10k as a warmup? Monster!

Er no, it was 10,000 in total with a warmup (of about 2,000) then 4 x 2000. 10k might be the hors d'oeuvre for Mousey but it's the main course for me!

Ha ha, hot exactly, Muttley! If it's any consolation, Nellers, I'm experiencing a bit of shed dread myself - partly a chronic elbow niggle and partly having my house slightly dismantled and reassembled by builders sorting an insurance subsidence claim. Think I'm going to have November off the erg to regroup.

Not done any serious rowing yet. I did a short WOD yesterday that involved cals on the rower and the technique video Nellers posted was really helpful 😊 struggling with motivation atm as gym is closed due to two positive covid tests and I've been 'under the weather' but negative test. Getting going again is tough I thrive on the atmosphere in the gym. Will try a row today though

I did a WOD on Friday with some row for calories bits (the WOD roulette app is evil in a brilliant way!). No idea how far or even how long I rowed for to be honest (3-6-9-12-15calories with press ups inbetween). That was weird coming from a place of not bothering to get on the rower unless I'm doing at least a couple of kms.

Other than that still no rowing.

Rich963 is smashing the distance. Has he posted on here at all?

About 8,000 this morning. A 15-minute 5-4-3-2-1 stroke ladder (I like these) as warmup then 5,000 at a steady to brisk pace. The long-term aim is to gradually whittle down the time on this distance, or maybe get to the stage where I can hold the pace while lengthening the distance. Have yet to decide. Currently following a kind of Pete Plan, with my own adjustments.
