At my target dress size though so not too unhappy if I am not quite there yet but I will keep slowly plugging away until I am there.

Late to the party as usual! And although I wasn't bothered with the old title, I'm happy with new one and it doesn't bother me either way that it has changed.
I've had a week or so of gradual small daily weight loss so my Trendweight graph has finally started heading downwards as well (as azx pointed out, it takes a little while for the 'trend' to become apparent). Slightly up this morning when I weighed myself but hopefully just a 'blip' and it'll carry on heading down gradually.

I think we shouldn't hang ourselves up on the odd day of upwards, so long as it doesn't become a trend. As most on here have said: some foods trigger fluid retention etc For me, it is when I eat gluten: i get constipated and seemingly out on weight, until I have been gluten free for a couple of days, when everything is regular again...

Gluten does it for me too, and Imhad a lot of bread and a chocolate croissant at the weekend. Back to my usual bread free diet though now, and still losing slowly. I’m not sure what my target is, but I’m nearly there I think.

I tend to find I have a two week lag. So, a week of holiday binging or a week of high training takes two weeks to filter through to the scales.

Totally agree Cackleberry on the 2 week lag.

Hannake - I am a confirmed 'once a week' weigh-er (Sun morning pre-breakfast) but am experimenting with daily weigh-ins and the Trendweight website on azx's recommendation to get a 'feel' for what's happening.
Cackleberry - I think it's more like a week for me for the bingeing/good days to filter through.

I definitely get a lag - sometimes it's a couple of days, usually a week, sometimes longer. Trendweight is still giving me 0.1lb a day loss even though I'm zig-zagging/yoyoing very slowly downwards.
I like daily weighing, it means I learn the patterns and don't get a shock from the scales. I'd like to lose faster - but agree with Pix - tired, need fuel, training needs fuel, need carbs and protein, need to eat enough.

Oh, loosing slowly is key! I initially was frustrated with my 200- 300 grammes a week but, doing a physical job means I have to eat properly, so it is a slow progress.
I also think slow = less chance of gaining it faat again either!

question to the panel
My training is 1-2 sessions a day mon-Thursday typically of 45 mins max (do 90mins maybe if 2 sessions) Then obvs hours and hours at the weekend of long slow stuff
My head therefore says Mon-Friday I can/should eat to BMR then fuel during my weekend sessions only (so no big meals before justified by long session)
Result ... (fingers crossed) ... lose weight.
Does that sound reasonable?
I really really want to lose some before Outlaw every lb less counts
