RH: I read on MFP that some scales give fake readings, in that if your weight hasn't shifted much, they give you the same reading as yesterday.

Went for a 10.5km walk and my nice garmin declared that to be 767 cals. Seems a bit excessive but it was up a hill and down.

Re watches, I wear a garmin 945 and a huawei band 4 pro 24x7 :) The huawei is great for sleep monitoring, it even catches naps during the day.

Do we really need to monitor everything? 😘
I have always been old skool. Calories on computers arent accurate... So I would have proper fitness testing for lactate treshold and fat, weight etc at the beginning of the season in February, then again in May, when the season would kick off properly. I would use HR zones as per my lt treshold testing but that was it... My fat was always very low, even in February. I wonder what it is now... Must get some calipers...

I don't need scales or callipers to tell me that my fat is too high, or my watch to tell me to get up off my moon :)

I track all my data, don't necessarily do anything with it but I track it!

In all seriousness I think it depends on your personality. I crave data, I need data. I couldn't live with just my mother-in-law telling me I look thinner. I want to know not only how much I've lost, but where, when, what and why. If I could take meaningful hourly measurements I would!

I don't imagine I'm anywhere near normal though!

I have been known to weigh myself 3-4 times a day
problem I have is I have a destructive trait that says I over ate on 1 thing F**k it and quit sometimes for a day sometimes weeks!
conversely I have also gone if 500cals less is good then 500 cals less + 500+ cals exercise is MUCH BETTER! Then next day eat the house down
I can be very hard on myself too

Oh I have all the data, I love the data - but it's not telling me anything I don't already know!
