So how much do baggy shorts slow you down by and are speedos the only alternative?

I did post an answer, as it goes. It was quite long, but 'loads' was the gist of it.

No one asked me a question!
As for baggy shorts - try this little expierment. Swim flat out 25m in a t shirt, plenty of rest and then repeat without the T shirt. You will see a great difference between the 2. Thats what it is like swimming in baggy shorts?

If they are baggy - they will slow you down, regardless of who makes them!

Or go for a run, into a headwind, pulling a large kite. Then think about it. Then go and buy some proper swimwear and keep your baggy shorts for the beach.

but can you quantify the difference? 2 seconds per 25m? 5 seconds? Or a percentage increase in time?
