The longest run in my plan is 30-35 and I will only be going over 30 once. I've also had an injury and only starting training properly at the beginning of the year so you will be absolutely fine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I managed to get a place to stay on the Friday & the Saturday in the end (on a Groupon deal too!) so no need for the bus as it turned out. Bit of a drive on the Saturday morning but gives me a chance to get something to eat at least. Looking forward to it!

Just been out on the Inversnaid to Beinglas section for the first time ( yesterday)- Wow!- need to practise scrambling! I ache in all sorts of odd places today after clambering over the rocks. This section has very little to do with running, and is much more a whole- body work out! I think some gym work might help. I think I should probably be intersprersing hilly/ rough stuff with "normal" long runs- I haven't recce'd all of the course, and I am sure that there are long "runnable" sections- I just haven't found them yet. I might try one more recce run, but won't make the last official training weekend, so there are definately going to be some bits of the route that I don't know , come race day, but I'm glad most of it will be familiar.

Cracking trip up for the training weekend. Managed to run all but about 5 miles of the course north of Drymen. So now fairly relaxed about the route. Great to put a few faces to names

And a fellow competitor enjoyed running with you too on Saturday sants! Really glad to hear your ankle held up well. That's the best news.
I think something like joining the kids at the jungle-gym is probably best training for the Inversnaid scramble section. It's not a bit I enjoy much. At least once I get on to Cow Poo alley up to Crianlarich I know that's the last time I need to use my hands to climb! G

My recovery from injury continues - unfortunately much of my running is being done on roads at the moment, but the mileage is building pretty well. Somehow managed to fit 20 miles of running around Edinburgh in with the rugby at the weekend (although my back to back had me running the shorter run on the Saturday, and long run on the Sunday...) - Project Fling still lives!

Doesn't matter how you do split it, just that you did it all time on feet

A month to go and I need some reassurance...Been injured for the last 4/5 weeks with metatarsalgia and have have just got back to running again, done a 6 mile, 10 mile and a 14 mile over the last two weeks.
I had been getting in some solid runs of consistent 18/20 and 22 miles prior to having to stop and rest but the enforced lay off and just getting back into long runs again has left me a bit wary. I think its all in my head and the physio seems to think that I shouldn't be to worried about it and concentrate in trying to get in a couple of decent long runs before the race.
Obviously I will be trying to get time and distance on feet again while everyone else is tapering down. What's everybody's thoughts on my current situation!
I should point out that I have previously done the Speyside Ultra (36) but that's been it.
Starting to get paranoid now thinking that I may be under trained and under prepared
