Lol hi Santa! I absolutely love this race. I'm running it for the 5th time and my running chum RitchieC is doing it for the first time and I can't wait for him to see the route.

I feel like my training for the fling is starting from scratch this week. I had an up and down October to December and never really recovered from Glenmore properly. A lesson I will take with me in the future post ultras.

So I managed 9 miles on the road on Sunday morning and felt good I've been having issues with my ITB band giving me a sore knee if I run anymore than 20 minutes, tried to have complete rest, tried stretching and strength work but nothing seemed to really be making any difference. The first 4 miles were a bit niggly but seemed to settle down for the remainder of the run. Will keep an eye on things.

The plan therefore is to hit the trails again starting this weekend with a Drymen to Balmaha out and back, this will be done at very ace pace and if all goes well I'll do another section this week. I'm familiar with all of the route from Drymen to around Inversnaid but would like to get to know the rest before the race and have ample opportunities before 25th April.

Going to use the next few weeks to build things up to hopefully be able to go the WHW training run at the end of the month.

Checks-in. Is it 2015 already?

Oh, and this is the best race in the world. Seriously.
