Was out for a run today... nice wee plod from Drymen northwards a wee bit and then back.

Since I was last out that way, someone has added in a lot of hills just north of Drymen, I would have sworn that bit used to be flatter!

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Glad this thread popped up on the first page so I remembered to get aboard. Second Fling for me, just looking to pace it a wee bit better than 2013 and use it as a marker en route to Comrades.

And I actually did a long training run today for the first time since an epic in the Ardennes last July. Will not be quite so long until the next one I'd hope, and a continuation of the great weather would help too.

Johnny Fling interviewed on WHW podcast #73 this week. A great listen, if you get a chance. Nice running Pirate and 57DoP. :-) G

Physio has cleared me to start increasing my weekly mileage, so perhaps I will still make it to the start (and finish!) line...

Clueless
Thanks everyone for the info and experiences. I'm thinking I may still, give it a go if I can get some miles in time.

Tested out my new Innov-8s on a trail half today. Will need to wear road shoes to Drymen I think but they should feel good for the rest of the way.

Is this weekend a Fling training weekend? Is it Beinglas based on Saturday? I'm trying to work out if a run with some Fetchies on WHW is actually same as Fling training weekend or separate! Thanks. :-) G

Yes G, it is the Fling training weekend this coming weekend and Saturday's proposed plan seems to be to run from Beinglas on Saturday.

Brill, thanks. I can get on Fetch on my PC at work, but not Facebook! And it takes me ages to find stuff on FB on my phone. Is it a 10am start or 9am any idea? Thanks again! :-) G
