6 miles @ 66% in 1:00:52 a course record would have been closer to the magic hour if i didn't have to pass one waman and her 3 dogs

Tough session this morning at 5:15 with Joopsy. Plan was to run 1m wu, then 4 x 8:00 with 2m wd. Only made 3m but at 7:45 pace, before I made Joopsy stop! 3m wd. Got up 3 times in the night for the baby as well.

Joopsy clearly had anothr mile or so in him.....I did not.

Splits were

7:42 @ 85%
7:46 @ 88%
7:45 @ 92%

You make it sound like you had to force me Lums, I was very happy to stop at that point.

another good run lums, well done

did a quick hill session on the TM last night before body pump, didnt put it on a program like I usually do but adjusted it manually so that I could control my exertion. I wanted to do a worthwhile session but not overdo it so put the speed down a bit and kept alternating between nearly flat and 5.5%. Did 2.5miles in total, av HR was around 80% which is about what I was wanting. I know it is the grey area but due to a few crappy runs recently dindt want an eyeballs out session.

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
