Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Have you done your daily physio exercises?

Thanks 😊

Rom = range of movement I.e. I'm still trying to bend and straighten my knee fully ish!

I am very impatient and peeved because the docs thought I had a meniscal tear and lots of effusions (fluid) in my knee so I had an arthroscopy and kept thinking once I had had arthroscopy I would just have to recover and then get back to running BUT the arthroscopy showed no meniscal tear but grade 3 arthritis, so they have taken the fluid off and sent it for analysis, and I am waiting to see orthopaedic surgeon again, meanwhile physio is trying to get knee moving but I haven't been able to fully bend and straighten it now since early August so there is lots of swearing, grunting and the odd watery eye whilst doing physio!

On the plus side I am down to only using one crutch!

However I have got over the initial shock and now am doing everything I can to optimise what I can do so I guess I will just have to wait to see what I can do.

I have another session with the physo on Wednesday so hopefully I can move it enough for her to move me on a bit 😊

I didn't do any this weekend but as I only have to do them every 3 days, my yoga session tonight includes all of them except 2, which I'll do after. I'm also joining my work's gym which is right beside my building, so I can go and do my phys either in the physio suite or on gym mats if it's not too busy - all in my lunch break.

I really need to do the swimming ones. I swam for a full hour non-stop on Sunday and I'm really feeling it today. I did the same last Sunday and didn't feel it so much - I think my pace was more erratic this week due to the pool being busier and noisier.

Well after being a slacker on Sunday I have done my exercises on Monday/Tuesday. Will do them again this evening and then it's back to the physio on Thursday. I think things have improved a bit, wonder if she'll be leaving bruises on me again?

Been to physio, got some extra exercises including...... Wait for it - standing on one leg! Lol - however I did discuss running with her and she said she wouldn't rule it out it would depend on how my strength (achieved through lots of physio) and pain barrier copes, so all is not lost I will have to see what the Orthopaedic Doctor says next week

Full set of new exercises done this morning - how bad is it that it is the thought that I might be able to run again which is making me religiously do my exercises not the potential to cope with 12.5 hour shifs at work! Lol

I think that anything that inspires you to do the exercises is a good thing Ditzy!

Hi Southwales22, nice part of the world to live :)

"positively makes me feel sick" - is that because of the pain? :o
