First time doing Manchester, will be back in 2017 and bringing a mate along too, only reason for missing next year is Paris. I really liked the course and the support was fantastic, I'm sure the sweets and goodies came out from mile 3! Second the York thread request, and maybe one for Hull.....

Cheers Nelly. Great thread. I think I will be back next year. have run two marathons (GMM this year and last). Really enjoyed this year and relish challenge of another. Chester sounds appealing in October. Think this is a well organised race and really good support. Was bit flustered by 25m marker but did know it was closer than that to end. Good effort from grim reaper.

Nelly am a bit behind, I much preferred the first course, even though it was ankle deep in mud through the park :)

Geoff new
Hi All , just joining this thread, although been a fetch member a few years, run this great event yesterday and got a pb by 13.41 minutes, came home in a chip time of 3.12.26, so a very happy 50year old runner as I got a GfA for London and Boston.
Did see the runner hit the cone at mile 3 and a bit, as I was about 3 metres away, he looked out cold to me, do hope he was ok , and is back running as soon as possible, did play on my mind, as I am sure like all of us he had put in a lot of hard training , and it is not nice to have your race stopped like that. If anyone knows how that runner is please can they post. Well done to all of you on this Thread.

Geoff, fantastic time and one if have been over the moon with, but it was not to be. As I said earlier on the thread, I was also directly behind the faller and was worried about him. Thankfully it appears he's ok m.facebook.com (assuming it's the same guy we saw)
