Thanks Nelly - sounds painful but not as bad as I thought - it's wasn't nice when he didn't get back up!

I saw him too but with medics attending. Glad he's ok

The only negative I could find was the course is a bit boring.

All the positives more than made up for it tho.

I can tell you that paper was plentiful in the portaloos on the course.
Something I have never considered before, hope never to have to check out again but was very very grateful for on Sunday

I was too out of it from 22m on to notice any mile marker issues. It was purely (and somewhat stupidly) a battle to get to the end. Guess that 10sec pb shouldn't feel like the disappointment it does.

The volunteers at the finish line were fantastic and swiftly deposited me in a wheelchair and off to medical tent.
After I was 'released' I had several volunteers ask if I needed medical assistance but I reassured them this was after treatment.

The cadets in the baggage tent we're fab and took me to the back and helped me get my warm clothes on.

On reflection I can't wait to get back and do it 'properly' and fully appreciate the support out on route.
I'm even considering binning the London ballot for the first time in 9 yrs. GMM is a nice size, we'll run, friendly with lovely supporters. I really want to do it again and enjoy it fully

PeeG
I thought it was a girl after I passed a similar point early on in the race who was sitting on the floor with loads of blood pouring from her nose.

That was probably the only down point with when there was people running it both directions it got a bit congested at parts. Not by a Great North Run standard of congested, but the other side of the road meant people could drift across for a short time to pick a gap to overtake which may have caused some issues.

Wouldn't have a clue sioux. I presume it wasn't me. I didn't talk to anyone about fetch, but was wearing the same vest as nelly.
