I forgot to say that I won my singles Final.
I played the first holes near perfectly (par, par, par) and was 3 up. He got me back to 1 up but I eventually finished 3 and 2.
I've got another final - doubles this time - when I get back from my trip. I haven't got my clubs with me so it'll be three weeks without swinging a club and then straight into the final. I hope my partner is getting plenty of practice.

Hi Lammo,
I'm a member at EB.
Approach to the third green - aim to the right of the flag. The green slopes wickedly to the left.
Approach to the fourth green - aim to the left of the flag. The green slopes wickedly to the right.
Eleventh is the only par 5. I always play my second to land just short of the fairway bunkers. You've then got a wedge into the green.

We've had a bit of controversy over playing the doubles final. One of our opponents has had an accident and wanted to postpone. We didn't. It was ruled that, as it's a four ball match, we could play 2 v 1 and that happened today.
I must say that he put up a good fight but missed having a wingman and we won 4&2.
It's prize presentation tomorrow.

Excellent XB, well done.
I played at East berks on Friday, lovely course, shame my golf wasn't able to do it justice, still that's what you get when you haven't played for 8 weeks.
West Ealing this Saturday and then i think the clubs will be stored for the winter other than a few trips to driving range.
Anybody have a very long season and play into November or December?

Played Seckford Golf Club in Suffolk at the weekend. Voted "Golf Club of the Year" in 2023 apparently. Nice facilities and a very enjoyable course.
Five pars on the day but also 4 double digit holes so couldn't build on the pars to put up a good score
