I was at that Longest Day gig too. Yes it was wet but fortunately was able to stay with a friend in MK. Yes we got dreadful seats for Wembley too and didn't really enjoy it. Found seats were much better at Twickenham though and had a great time.

At Twickenham U2, the sound, and me were all in different time zones. I couldn't have been further from the stage unless I fell out of a hole in the back wall...

I've never been near the front in any of those big venues (O2, Wembley etc) cause the tickets cost so much. So I'm always at least slightly disappointed.

I get tickets through the fan club and have generally been lucky in getting a good spot, although the first time I saw them was on the Vertigo tour and I was at the back of Croke Park, but it didn't matter. Our seats for the Joshua Tree were amazing. We were in a section right next to some VIP guests such as members of the Gallagher family and saw Bono's boys Eli and John being walked through our stand to the stage in the centre. The most I ever paid for a ticket was probably the worst view I got of a whole show, but I was at the barriers for the walkway to the stage and close enough to touch band members. I probably wouldn't spend that much on a ticket again but depending on the venue would probably chance general admission to get that close again. |

Fitz, The Ramones hey? You lucky devil. If I could see 2 bands at all it would be The Ramones and The Clash (in that order!)

I'll be honest, gcwenn, I remember very little about the day except the rain and the plastic bottles of warm yellow liquid flying about. Poor Mr Bragg seemed particularly targeted, I think he may even have batted away a couple with the back of his guitar. So I can't tell you anything about the Ramones' set. I'd join you in the time machine for that Clash gig though, if we can also see Talking Heads? |

I was at Reading one time and some metallical music type chappie did a poo in a bag and threw it into the crowd. I was just hoping for a drumstick or a plectrum.

I saw The Wedding Present in Portsmouth. At the end they threw the Leeds United scarf that had been adorning the drum kit into the crowd. It was thrown back several times before they finally gave up and took it home with them.
