My suggestions have been way to “easy” for me. I run faster than my predictions to, and it doesn’t change if I log a run faster than a prediction either :)

Also I don’t like to be surprised by what training I should do :)
But now with morning report I might give it a try again. Just to get som more variation perhaps.

I'm watching it rather than using it. I don't think using HR as the target it can be too easy really. TBH the HR for base runs it comes up with is higher than I'd generally average even with me working with a higher max than the watch thinks I have (It's runnable just I generally keep things easier than that for general runs). 121 today is lower than typical though as I wanted to keep things very easy.

Yes that’s probably how I would use it too, get some inspiration, and tweaked it in to something more suited for me.

My 255 has a weekly mileage gauge on the default watch face. Does anyone know where the mileage 'target' on it is coming from?

res.garmin.com

That image from Garmin suggests that the gauge might split for multiple sports if you do that.

Are you following a Garmin training plan ?
Or maybe it's the weekly sum of the suggested runs it gives you ?

It's possible it's the latter. The runs don't have official mileage but given you can train to pace there's a mileage expectation. However the mileage has been 30 for the last 3 weeks and I don't think it had that much mileage last week as it was trying to taper me for my race.

I saw a comment in the Garmin forum where someone said the training plan they were following added up to much more mileage than the gauge.

My Garmin died yesterday. 735xt so should be water proof but its death coincided with my first swim in a long time. Wondering if I can hold out for Black Friday sales. Even the supposedly more basic watches seem to be very expensive. 255 I am looking at you.

The 255 is a multisport watch now, I expect it's better than the 735. The basic is the 55 really or 45 if you go for the earlier model.

If you contact Garmin they may replace or give you money off a new watch if your model is discontinued.

After running 42 miles last week, the gauge is showing 40 instead of 30 (I'd been over 30 but under 40 the last couple of weeks), so maybe it is linked somewhat to what you've run recently.

A question on the power/USB crocodile type clip for Garmin Forerunners - 620 / 735 etc. Has anyone any experience with the Amazon/ebay £5 versions, good or bad?
Or do I need to get the real thing from Garmin?
Thanks
