It really is crazy how accurate it is. With my old watch I had about a 50% chance of tagging this traffic light by running down the Cowley road, due to GPS wiggles. Today I ran on the north side of the road but I've also tested running on the south side and neither situation is enough to get quite close enough now - I have to turn down the adjacent road to tag it.

I agree, you can work out when you cross roads, its accurate to sub 1metre I would say, maybe even sub 50cm.

Any Fetchies in Basel want to sell me a charging clip for my FR645? 😅

My bag was nicked in Belgium and I seem to care more about this than my loss of passport, wallet, and many valuables!

You could probably get one on amazon pretty quickly.

No Amazon in Switzerland, would you believe. Nor in our next stops of Slovenia and Croatia! What a world!

Not easy when you're hopping from country to country. Next day delivery is the only practical option, and that's not available. It isn't the first time I've wished I could buy a charger in a shop.

Had an odd one tonight. GPS signal locked and loaded, set off and was getting believable pace readings etc. Got to about 3 miles in and the readings were still believable in terms of pace, but perhaps 30s per mile faster than I thought I was going. Got to about 5 miles and the last mile was shown as being about 45s faster than I thought, but also the 5 mile marker came up on my watch about 0.25+m earlier than I knew it should so guessed there'd been a snafu somewhere.

Output file only contains about 0.75m of trace so clearly it had a meltdown mid run. Odd though that it kept reporting pretty believable pace and distance readings. Was expecting to see a messed up trace rather than a very partial one.

Odd / intriguing. Just one of those things though.

larkim, does your watch have an accelerometer in it? If so, it was probably using that to determine distance/pace if it lost connection to the satellites.
