Once my watch locked on I didn't get any further problems, but YMMV

Def a satellite thing then. Hope it fixes itself soon.

Unlikely to be a "satellite" thing in the sense that each satellite involved orbits every 12 hours or so, so it's a pretty fast moving constellation of satellites reconfiguring themselves all the time to provide the necessary range of signals.
But if your watch doesn't know where it should be looking because the CPE file or similar isn't up to date then it will find it harder to lock which is presuambl what you're seeing.

I knew what I meant more that it’s not my garmin but a bigger issue somewhere.

I think the satellites may have melted.

My 255 was taking forever to get GPS lock today so started without lock. Took about 0.75 miles to finally locate. Fine once it did though

Mine too, interesting, I have never waited this long for the GPS to get a full green bar before the run. But after that, perfect as always. F7XSS.

Mine took longer than usual to locate satellites. It’s normally fine by the time I get to the end of my path. Today I went to put recycling in the bin got to my path. Down my street and halfway down the next street before it locked and I started running.
