Not iwth a 945, but I had issues with a different model (vivoactive) that was usually related to the contacts between the charger and the watch being gunked up so overnight "full charges" weren't really full charges (despite the software on the watch thinking they were). A clean of the connectors with an alcohol based cleaner / cotton bud usually did the trick. Worth a try if nothing else just in case it is a similar issue.

@larkim
Yes, i have had that issue to, but I got a new charging cable on the warranty, and it has worked since then.
But you mean it think it is charged and tells you 100%. Never heard about that. I didn’t think that was a possible thing.

I mean if it full it’s full, I has to feel the level charge on the battery?
But maybe not then?

The presentation on screen of 100% is just a software display of "something", as is the display of 0%. So it's not quite the same as a fuel tank either having fuel in it or not I suppose.

My take on it is that there is "something" which happens when a battery charges in a fragmented way due to a poor connection that gives the software the "wrong" values for 100% and / or 0% (or something along those lines), so that when the watch appears to be draining battery "fast", it's actually not doing anything of the sort. So it could be (for example) that it thinks it's full, and reports 100%, but in reality there's only (say) 5% battery left. So as it uses up those 5% it rapidly gets down to 0% and shuts down. Or the opposite is true, that it is really full, but it's computation of what low battery really means is wrong for some reason.

Unless the watch is getting hot, I'd find it hard to believe the battery is capable of fully discharging itself from 100% to 1% rapidly as that battery power needs to go "somewhere"; if the CPU was working really hard I reckon you'd feel it in the watch somehow.

All of that is just my completely amateurish guesswork about what might be happening! It could be something completely different!!

Try cleaning the connections anyway - if your wrist is anything like mine, the potential for the charging points to be gunked up with skin and sweat is pretty high!

@Larkim, sounds somewhat logical.
I've never thought about it that way though.
I thought it was a gauge on actual energy stored in the battery, And not a computed level depending on attached cable so or so long then it should be ful.
if you know what i mean :)
Well i'll try, and will be the happiest in the world if it works.
thanks!

(Dust off rather dusty embedded software engineer hat)

I don't know specifically about the internals of Garmins, but in other devices, the "%full" is typically a function of measuring the voltage level coming out of the battery (a fully charged battery will produce a slightly higher voltage than a partially charged one). If the connectors are gunked, it might distort that reading.

(In much the same way as my first car would read a different fuel level, depending on if the was parked facing uphill or downhill - the fuel level was the same, but the reading could be distorted by external factors)

FWIW, there's a "battery analyser" widget on ConnectIQ which might give you an indication of when the watch is begin discharged.

I did another thing when the watch buzzed at 10% then at 5% very fast, when i got terrified of losing my daily merics. :)
So i closed the iphone app, i thought well i cant hurt.
And this was at 13:00 or something.
And it stopped at 3% and haven't moved since.
The plot thickens..

After you charge it next, try sync, turn off and on, then turn off by holding down the light key till it shuts down. That sometimes clears fast drain.
It sounds as though you have constant syncing going on which sometimes happens if there are corrupt files which never sync properly and that drains the battery very fast. There are a couple of folders you can delete which the watch will regenerate which sometimes solves that without needing to do a factory reset, I'll try to dig that info out for you if the first thing doesn't work.
