My comment last week about Talia only being in shot because she's a show-runner's wife have been blown up. She was spying for Lady Misery. Also did everyone shed a tear when Viserys crown slipped and it was Daemon that came to help him, or are you all cold heartless automatons? ![]() |

That scene was brilliant. The crown fell by accident and they improvised and kept it in.

Well that was another cracker. My daughter and I were on tenterhooks for most of it (except when we were rather put off by Larys’s foot fetish 🤮)

Interesting to me that Allicent is influencing the men she needs support from with things like the foot scene and mirroring the piousness of Criston Cole. Cersi would have just shagged them. Allicent is a more complex character. I'm certainly not Team Green but I can very much sympathise with Allicent and the situation she is trapped in, even if some of the trap is of her own making. |

I thought Alicent was really well written. You could see how conflicted she was. I’m much more sympathetic to her than I thought I’d be. But even if she’d never mentioned Viserys’ last words the Hand and the council were still planning to crown Aegon.

Yep. Otto had a plan in place to put Aegon on the throne because, gods forbid, a bad man like Daemon might get close to power. Daemon would be a disaster for the realm, obviously. So Aegon II it is then. What could possibly go wrong? |

I think I misread the motives behind the race between Otto's and Alicent's teams to grab Aegon. I'd assumed that Otto planned to bump off Aegon and install Aemond as a less pathetic king, but the way it played out suggested that possession of Aegon was more about leverage to decide what approach to use to deal with Rhaenyra...

Definitely the latter, Doogs. I think Otto’s tenuous argument for a legitimate heir would be completely destroyed by going to Aemond. He’s not next in line even after Aegon. Aegon has at least one son.
