I've just checked my EA membership Nellers, and unfortunately it's tied to a specific leisure centre - I tried a dummy booking for a different one and it wanted to charge me. A shame as I suspect there are quite a few people who would pay slightly more to have flexibility. I did my third session with the squad I've joined last night, and got bumped up to a slightly quicker lane, which was quite challenging though I just about hung on! 3k done with the main set all at CSS + 4 seconds. Really enjoying it but it's absolutely knackering by the end! |

Yep, it's a bit annoying. There's another pool also within a short bike ride near me that has some convenient times for swim sessions so on the odd occasion I've paid to swim there. Pool pretty busy this morning, New Year resolutions are kicking in ![]() |

Our local pool is run by EA and I have no complaints.

Fusion have now cancelled pool bookings through to Tuesday but are saying that they have an engineer booked and the problem should be resolved soon. They seem unable or unwilling to give any kind of timescales though. Is "soon" Wednesday or February?

Just spoke to one of the other regulars. The story he got (when he asked the maintenance guy rather than receptionist) is that the fire detection system is registering a fire so automatically shuts down all the electrics. However there is definitely no fire so they need the alarm engineer to test and reset before they can switch everything back on. This is not the same fault that closed the pool last month, or the fault that’s shut down the poolside showers and loos. They are still “trying to identify the cause” for those. What a way to run a railroad! |

EA also run our pool. They seem to get swimming. Our pool which is a 33m was always split 23m/9m (with 1m divide) first thing they done was put the pool to a 25m pool with smaller other pool. They also opened earlier two days per week for extra lane swim sessions. No complaints from me (although they do forget to put out the lane directions and is what is F/M/S occasionally, which is always fun when a newbie turns up and they don’t know where to go or what way to swim!)
