Need to make sure this translates to a return to the water in 2025.

Bring back some motivational turtles, AC, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

No swim for me today as the pool has had to close, temporarily, due to "unforeseen maintenance issues".
So the background to this, according to the other folks I talk to at the pool but absolutely not the staff, is that Fusion have lost the council contract to operate the centre and they're out in April, so there's no incentive for them to pay money on maintenance. This is why the poolside loos and showers have been out of action for a couple of months and that this is the third time they've had to shut the pool at short notice for "unforeseen maintenance issues".
When we ask the staff what's going on we're just told the official line, almost word for word, which is "We've got engineers in and they're trying to resolve the issue."
It's all a little bit frustrating but as there are a very limited number of public pools in the area (this one is 5 miles from home, the next nearest is 8 and in Basildon so traffic issues make it hard to do for a morning swim and be home in time for work) I'm kinda stuck with waiting this out.

We had Fusion running my local leisure centre until last March too, and they did similar. The new provider is MLCT (AKA 'More') and although they've reduced the number of swim sessions recently, they seem to be doing a better job of looking after the facilities.

To be fair to them they've been OK over the last several (10 years maybe?) that they've had the contract. It's only when they know they're not keeping the place that it's gone downhill, but it's really noticeably downhill!
Also we're getting no info from them or the council on who has the contract from April. Everyone Active have 2 adjacent council's contracts so I'm kind of expecting them to take it but it's nothing more than a guess.

And having not checked since before Xmas I've just had a look on the council website and Everyone Active have got the contract from April.
This is good news as they also operate the pool/gym near my In-laws in Leicester so I should be able to swim on my membership when we're up there visiting.

That's good. 'More' operate a system whereby you're a member of one centre, but I can't swim under that membership at another local pool although it's run by the same company.

Ah, I'm making a bit of an assumption there aren't I? I hope EA don't do that. I know (because I've downloaded the app for use up in The Old Country) that I can swap between centres myself to book sessions but that's without a paid membership so maybe I'm wrong. Fingers crossed, but either way they'll hopefully fix the showers!
