Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have both finished and not finished the challenge. I knew I needed >2km yesterday but I got a nip of cramp at that point and decided to exit the lake. Now I have Schrodinger's finish - listed in the challenge finishers but also still swimming :-)

That's so frustrating! Well done on finishing/not finishing the challenge though.

One sugar in mine please, @Sushi , and break out the good biscuits. I'm finished! I did a bit of a speedwork sesh this morning so I probably actually sprinted across the line just for dramatic effect.

Well done Nellers! And Oranj - hopefully Schrodinger's finish become an actual one shortly!

What were you doing as speedwork, Nellers, and how did you find it? (Once I've done my event I want to work on speed, so am on the lookout for tips / good sessions.)

It's a session I found on YouTube and I've got it programmed in to my watch.

200 easy
20 sec rest
4 x 50 increasing pace each one, 20 sec rest between each
100m easy
1 min rest
8 x 50m (25m hard/ 25m easy, 20 sec rest)
100m easy
8 x 50m (25m hard/ 25m easy, 20 sec rest)
100m easy
30 sec rest
4 x 100m increasing pace each 25, 20 sec rest
200m
30 sec rest
200m easy

It totals out at 2.2km but you could cut it down by doing 6 or 4 x 50s in those two sets or doing 2 x 100 at the end or something. I don't do it often. I think this is only the third time doing this session as you need a wide lane that's not too busy because you're swimming some bits flat out and some pretty slow. If it's packed or a tight lane it can be hard for everyone else in there to work round you.

That looks a good challenge! Thanks for sharing, and the lane tips - might be one for when my usual pool reopens, as the lanes there are much wider.
