It sounds like you have a good approach, Hanneke.
Are you labelling inaccessible markers as inaccessible? It removes the temptation to wander, and reduces marker angst.
Traffic lights have their disadvantages. I ran through a few traffic lights in the recent Cambridge Half Marathon; they weren't mine, and at least one was an 80 pointer. Kind of unavoidable. I couldn't reasonably ask the organisers to amend their route. My traffic light total has at least gone positive, now, I see.

Just marked a bug by the river I was going for tonight as inaccessible - they’ve shut the flood gates!!

That may be that part of my route list gone for the winter 🤷‍♂️

Ugh BS! I better not go seeking those out!
Yes! I mark.inaccessible things as inaccessible and feel blessed to be able to go on people's land here and there because I have permission.
Thankfully, last night, my friends were in, it was nearly dark and drizzling, as was their neighbour's dog, so I walk by under the radar ☺️

Today’s bug showed up in the exact same spot as yesterday’s. 🙂

I was lucky yesterday! I totally forgot logging my walk the day before yesterday... AND didn't have much time to head out on foot AND bike yesterday.
My second bug was along the sane track, about 500 metres away, as the one from the day before sooooo... Logged the "old" walk and zipped round on my bike :)
Today I am not so lucky but will walk from my client, onto the hill for a forage and to pick up some good jewels...
I am about to zip the bug out of the circle on my bike: sun's out!

By the way: I usually get rid of my bug every day... And now realise that when you don't your score is pityful!!!!

Playing devils advocate here but on JCBs pic none of those points marked inaccessible look like they genuinely are (That's without knowing the local geography). Is it sporting to mark a location inaccessible if a swimmer/paddleboarder/kayaker can get there (if they even count in Fetchpoint)?

Maybe thats why I suck at this game and always have such a negative score

A bit more of my circle is currently inaccessible!! The path along the river by the trees in the background of pic 2 is where I marked Wednesday's bug as inaccessible!! Seems to have been a sound choice!

I've inaccessibled a lot of offshore points in an area close to home in which another (not very active) player occasionally appears, and it looks like JCB's picture. It's a stretch of coastline that isn't suitable for swimming or other watersports.

I’ve got an inaccessible shore, I run, walk and cycle. There’s nothing getting me in the water!

Just imagine all the flowers we are going to be planting flowers over the weekend Mr mussile!
I haven’t been playing long but I do try and get my bug every day when I’m here!
