Just split their GPS track either side of their bug a few days. That should sort it ;-)

On an unrelated point, I have noticed occasions where players have paused their watch just before they hit a traffic light marker, then unpausing it when they have passed it. I am all for creative play, but I felt that this wasn't in the spirit of the game. I've added a note to the game guide.

Idea for a FetchPoint curse: "May your bug be surrounded by eight traffic lights tomorrow morning!"

Hi Fetch, Could you move the new bit to under 'traffic lights'? It is specifically about them. At the moment it is under 'general', of course.

I have amended the wording to read:

"pausing your GPS to avoid hitting a marker is considered unsporting."

so it applies to all markers.

Excellent - I no longer need to try and avoid infecting somebody else's bug (not that I ever did) - to do so would be unsporting :)

Thanks, Fetch. I suppose one might want to avoid randoms. And certain bugs, as CumbriAndy says.

...and if you do so by amending your route, that's cool with me :-)

Just had a thought... would it also be unsporting to pause the gps to place a flower at a certain spot? 😳

Never thought of pausing my GPS to avoid stuff. I'm amazed that people do so.

Well done Hann!

I have 2 "corners" outside of my circle with little islands in that I sometimes go round once or twice to plant a flower on it. Only if I'm near enough to the half mile - I don't want the locals thinking I'm an out & out nutter. It has to be done as nearly half of my circle in that direction is inaccessible due to fields, river and dual carriageway.

Thanks AR :)

I have, for the first time ever, 2 diamonds in my circle AND they are both accessible! I have loads of areas in my circle that are inaccessible, even to me.... I mean, last night's quick run/walk went through my friend's and their neighbour's yard to pick up 2 blue jewels but mostly, I am stuck with farmer's fields and a fetch computer who thinks rivers and streams are paths :)

I only used manual logging of my resulting regular configurations of walks, largely around the 10 km mark. But now that winter is looming, I am glad for the Garmin and an improved shoulder as Nordic Walking is back on the cards and will replace cycling on all but the weekends. You don't get as cold and wet on foot! :)

I do have 3 loops that go out of my circle. 2 created simply for Fetchpoint and one loops up to and back down the Ridge. When I still ran, that was a daily and as it is super to briefly look into the next valley, then trot down and uphill marching is as good as shuffeling ;) I have a nice circle of flowers there! How else do you ever get to a reasonable score, with no traffic lights, very few accessible bugs and only footpaths through fields connected by only 4 lanes coming together just by my house?
