I rarely have traffic lights. As mostly I'm a lone player. I agree with Flatlander.

I don't like traffic lights, either, like Flatlander. I have lodged feature requests for exemptions from TLs like: 1 No charge in your home circle (seems unfair). 2 No charge on your commute (charge discourages active commuting, but active commuting should be encouraged). They were not passed, though. I could lodge a feature request for exemption for travel that qualifies as active transport; including commuting, shopping, recycling centre, volunteering, and visiting, activities that could be done in a motor vehicle, of whatever description. So, for fun would not be exempt, and for sport only, would be exempt. No charge on Sunday is a good idea. No charge during rush hour might also be a good idea. Perhaps 8-10am and 4-7pm.

I can imagine that traffic lights would be a pain and detrimental to going for an activity. It’s not a consideration for me though as they don’t appear here.
Whilst I do occasionally go swimming, it’s normally only as part of being with my child doing surfing. And that’s on the south coast, not the north one as in my picture. To cover so many grid points in the water, where there are no roads, and actually trying to locate oneself to a grid point for a gem/bug is more cumbersome than it’s worth. I’m also not a confident swimmer. 🤣

I think traffic lights are fine as they. When I commuted by bike in London I didn't bother altering my route to avoid them. Any charges you get are balanced out by all the bugs you can infect And I would never not do an activity just because there are traffic lights!

As someone who doesn’t have traffic lights in their life, I wouldn’t miss them if they were gone.

Perhaps: 1 Traffic lights charge everyone, so everyone suffers. 2 But, the higher the traffic light charge is in an area, the more wandering tokens (Higgs Boson, the Ring) are attracted to the area.

Interesting discussion on traffic lights. Not a thing which I come across too often as a rural player with few other Fetchies around. I totally get the suggestion that they are potentially a disincentive to training which seems a bit counter-intuitive. At the same time it does add a different flavour to a game which might otherwise feel a bit samey. You can get big rewards for getting an active TL on a race route but equally I do admire anyone who puts in the planning & effort to cash in - I imagine it’s a pretty rare occurrence. All in all I think I’d vote for leaving things as is

Well, Oscar, there might be a way around that rural tax. Where might the charges go? Less populated areas.
